Rough Review is hitting the radio airwaves. Well, not quite, but it will soon be available in stereo. Very shortly, Rough review will be welcoming a new addition to its pages, “Liz and Loz…Whenever”. The podcast.

This podcast was the brainchild of your very own Rough Reviewer, Elizabeth, the “Liz” in the equation. Not quite content with merely using this website to blog about the media, Elizabeth felt the need to talk about it, literally. And with me.

I’m Laura. In our final year of high school, Liz and I would fantasise about the day that we would have our own radio show. We had a lot of opinions, you see. Ones we believed needed to be shared with the world, on “Liz and Loz in the mornings”. Needless to say in the couple of years since, this dream hasn’t died. I even got a little closer to realising it on my own, presenting radio for a number of community stations. But despite my involvement in the broadcast world, nothing could quite measure up to the amazing show that Liz and I had conjured in our minds years earlier. Hence, why I leapt on board straight away when Liz suggested a podcast, one to call our very own. It’s not quite the dream, but it’s pretty damn close. We still have a lot of opinions, you see.

Liz and Loz…whenever will be a platform on which we air our thoughts. We will be commenting on those ideas sparked by the media that ignite so many thoughts that it’s near impossible to comprehend compressing them into a single sensical blog post.

Each episode will have an overall theme, which will be explored in segments, discussion and interviews during the half hour.
Sparked by the ideas explored in James Cameron’s Avatar’, our first show – our pilot, if you will – tackles the issue of double lives. To assist us in our discussion, professional writer, published author and blogger, MaryAnn Johanson offers her insights into the issue of double lives online, and finding a balance between ones’ interests and work.
